Befriending the Body
A 7-week group to transform your relationship with chronic pain.
”The cure for pain lies in the pain.” — Rumi
You might have thoughts like these:
I can’t relax or feel comfortable.
I can’t do what I want.
I feel alone when I’m in pain.
A New Way to Relate to Pain
This group’s main intention is to help you relate to pain differently. Pain often brings tension. Staying with your feelings and sensations helps you relax and learn from your pain. Understanding, not resisting pain, reveals what you need, like feeling safer in your body. As comfort grows, life opens up. Imagine what that could mean for you!
the approach
My approach balances structure and flexibility. Each 75-minute session teaches practical skills and builds shared understanding. Over seven weeks, we will build connections, transform old beliefs, and invite new possibilities. Together, we will shift focus from pain’s burden to inspiration.
What Becomes Possible
Less alone.
Greater hope for a meaningful life, even with pain.
Reduced physical pain and emotional suffering.
Increased comfort in your body.
From My Heart to Yours
I’ve lived with chronic pain since my early twenties, when I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. Therapy and graduate school helped me heal and support others. Though I no longer identify with the label, I still feel daily discomfort. I value self-care by staying in my window of tolerance and taking things moment by moment.
When pain worsens, it signals an imbalance. I’ve learned to let go of pressure and be present. By being kinder to myself and others, I have a much better quality of life. I hope you can, too!
If you’re ready to take the next step, I invite you to join us.
