About Laurie

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

My own path of healing and transformation has greatly influenced who I am as a psychotherapist. My father died when I was young and the experience profoundly changed my life. Later on, as a young adult, I experienced an intense health crisis that led me to question the deeper nature of reality. These two pivotal experiences were doorways to uncovering my life’s greater purpose.

I have practiced as a psychotherapist for over 18 years throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and received my MS in Counseling from Dominican University, and BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado with a minor in Peace & Conflict Studies.

In addition to my private practice, I worked for ten years in a hospice setting as a clinician and supervisor. I also have extensive experience working with kids, teens, and young adults in schools and community mental health.

I am fluent in Spanish, and I have travelled extensively.
