About Laurie

BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

My own journey of healing and transformation has significantly shaped who I am as a psychotherapist. My father died when I was young, and that experience profoundly altered my life. Later, as a young adult, I underwent a severe health crisis that prompted me to question the deeper nature of reality. These two pivotal experiences served as doorways to discovering my life’s greater purpose.

I have been a California-based psychotherapist for twenty years and hold an MS in Counseling from Dominican University and a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado, where I also studied Peace & Conflict Studies. Alongside my private practice, I spent a decade working in hospice. I have supported children, teens, and young adults in schools and community mental health programs.

I started my career using biofeedback, but later found other body-based approaches that do not rely on technology. Silent meditation and mindfulness have shaped my beliefs and brought me a sense of peace and freedom.

I hope to help others uncover this sense of inner freedom as well.

I am fluent in Spanish, and I have travelled extensively.

In 2023, I moved from the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband and son to rural upstate New York to live more simply and in greater congruence with my deepest values.
