BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
My own path of healing and transformation has greatly influenced who I am as a psychotherapist. My father died when I was thirteen years old, and the experience profoundly changed my life. I also was physically and emotionally debilitated for over two years as a young adult from a severe chronic pain diagnosis. Through body-mind-spirit interventions, I am fully and completely healed.
My therapeutic style is influenced by my extensive training and practice in these modalities:
- Formative Psychology®
- Yoga and Ayurveda
- Non-Violent Communication
- Biofeedback
- Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy
- Judeo-Christian and Eastern Spirituality
- Intuitive Studies
In addition to my private practice, I have been a hospice counselor to bereaved families for over 8 years and a clinical supervisor to hospice therapists-in-training for the past 6 years.
I have extensive experience working with teens, preteens, and young adults. I also have also supported dozens of elders in their aging process.
I have been licensed in California as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 47109) since 2009. I received my MS in Psychology from Dominican University, and my BA in Psychology from University of Colorado, Boulder in 2000.
I am fluent in Spanish, and I have lived and travelled extensively in Latin America and Asia. See my LinkedIn profile for more details.
